In order to place a medical device or IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic) on to the UK market, it requires a specific mark to be affixed to show that it conforms to relevant regulatory requirements (a mark of conformity), this would be for example; a CE mark, CE NI mark, UKCA mark, FDA mark etc. – depending on the regulations and market.
With the UK no longer being part of the EU Single Market, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), the UK Competent Authority, is no longer part of the EU network of Competent Authorities.
The requirements in Great Britain (England, Wales, Scotland) and Northern Ireland differ:
· In Great Britain – CE marked devices could have been placed on the market until 30 June 2023. After that date UKCA requirements became mandatory, with the UKCA-mark required
· In Northern Ireland – CE marked devices can be placed on the market, even after 30 June 2023
Our range of rapid home use approved self-testing kits can be implemented / supported across our UK approved partner clinic locations. Specific protocols must be followed and checked regularly to maintain and ensure compliance to national requirements.
In relation to CQC registration, it is important to establish if the service to be provided is a regulated activity or not. The regulated activities are detailed in Schedule 1 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.’
Taking blood using a pin prick test or removing blood from a vein where the sample is not sent to a laboratory to be analysed, and taking urine samples where the sample is not sent to a laboratory to be analysed are out of the scope of registration. Consequently, as the tests are fully certified point-of-care tests using the methods above, CQC registration is not a requirement to provide diagnostic and screening services.

Boost Oxygen is 95% oxygen and 5% aroma and ambient air. Boost Oxygen is all-natural and contains no caffeine, calories or any other unnatural stimulants.
Although both Boost and medical oxygen are produced in the same manner, recreational Oxygen is designed for healthy people looking to supplement and improve different facets of their life, and is not intended for use by anyone who has asthma, lung ailments or heart problems or as a substitute for physician-prescribed or life-saving oxygen.
Boost Oxygen is not a substitute for individuals who have been prescribed Medical Oxygen (99% purity) for health reasons. It is solely intended for recreational use.
The ergonomic mask was designed and patented by Boost Oxygen to provide a convenient apparatus that can be operated by using only one hand. It also directs the oxygen flow efficiently into the mouth or nose.
As pure Oxygen is also odourless and tasteless, aromas provide the user with a different perception of use. In addition, the Aromatherapy fragrances we use can give the user additional benefits beyond what traditional unflavoured oxygen gives. All our aromas are made from 100% pure organic essential oils.
During its time of need, the body’s response to maintain blood oxygen levels is to breathe more heavily to increase oxygen intake. When the body does not receive enough oxygen from the outside, it starts to use internal sources for its oxygen. This is called Anaerobic Respiration. Muscle fatigue and cramping occur when glycogen in oxygen-starved blood turns into lactic acid. Adding oxygen to the blood inhibits the production of lactic acid, and helps the body clear out any lactic acid that is already present. Recovery is easier with supplemental oxygen.
Medical studies past and present have shown that inhaling oxygen before and during physical activity enhances endurance performance and can cut down on recovery times. BOOST Oxygen is the perfect way to energize and optimize your workouts at the fitness centre. It will help you overcome lethargy and help you achieve your peak performance.
No. Oxygen gas is virtually WEIGHTLESS. Our sealed cans are very LIGHT, but they are full. The weight of a full can feels empty as the oxygen inside has no discernible mass. The advantage is that they are very light and convenient to carry.
Boost Oxygen is pressure filled only into the can (sort of like a tyre). No aerosols or propellants are used. As the can depletes, the pressure of the oxygen flow from the can will also deplete until finally empty. When the oxygen no longer flows, the can is empty.
It all depends on how deeply you breathe in. Our 3L cans contain approximately 100 inhalations, 5L cans - 100 and our 9-10L cans with a connected mask contain approximately 150-200 inhalations. Some individuals take normal 1 second breaths, others take longer 3 or more second inhalations. It is a matter of personal preference.
This depends widely on your circumstances, body weight, type, etc. If you are working out in the gym and want to recover more quickly between sets, 2- 3 inhalations between sets when needed might do the trick. Same for the high altitude, stress and ‘second wind’ applications. If you are really hung over, jet lagged, you may need more than this. The attractive benefit to oxygen is that the effects are fairly immediate - oxygen is admitted into the blood stream directly, so you should be able to gauge after the 3-5 inhalations if you need any more.
No. Oxygen gas alone is not flammable, contrary to popular belief - (otherwise our 20.9% oxygenated atmosphere would have burned up a long time ago!) Oxygen is not a fuel itself, but when combined with a fuel and ignition, it can serve to accelerate the chemical reaction.
As our cans are recyclable please place in your recycling bin.
For all cans, remove tamper evident plastic, insert mouth into the mask, press trigger and inhale deeply. Hold oxygen in lungs temporarily before exhaling for best results. Repeat as desired. It is recommended to repeat this procedure 3-5 times to feel the effects of the Oxygen.
Not in carryon luggage. However, it can be taken in hold luggage (2 x 9L or 4 x 5L cans).
